π Before you start...
SISE Connect is designed as a professional, respectful and collaborative community. Before participating, please take a moment to understand how the community works.
1. SISE Connect is the professional community of the SISE Foundation
SISE Connect is the online community platform of the Society of Indian Screen Editors Foundation (SISE Foundation).
The community exists to support communication, knowledge exchange, professional networking, education and collaboration among screen editors and members of the wider SISE community.
SISE Connect and the SISE Foundation website serve different purposes:
SISE Connect is the community space for conversation, participation and interaction.
SISE Foundation is the Foundation's institutional and public-facing platform.
Official Foundation information, governance, programmes and institutional announcements may be published through the appropriate official channels.
The community is intended to complementβnot replaceβthe Foundation's formal institutional communications.
2. SISE Connect is a professional community
SISE Connect is built around the profession and craft of screen editing.
The community welcomes discussions relating to:
Screen editing and post-production
Film and television craft
Editing theory and practice
Professional experiences and knowledge sharing
Workshops, masterclasses and educational programmes
Industry opportunities
SISE programmes and initiatives
International screen-editing communities
Research, publications and archives
Professional networking and collaboration
We encourage members to contribute knowledge, experience and ideas that can benefit the wider community.

Your SISE Connect account represents your identity within the community, and members are expected to use their accounts responsibly.
4. Respect the community
SISE Connect is a professional community.
Members are expected to communicate with courtesy, professionalism and respect.
We welcome disagreement, discussion and different perspectives. However:
Do not harass or personally attack other members.
Do not engage in discriminatory or hateful conduct.
Do not post threatening, abusive or deliberately harmful material.
Do not impersonate another person or organisation.
Do not deliberately misrepresent professional credentials or affiliations.
Do not publish another person's private or confidential information without permission.
Do not use the community for spam or unsolicited commercial promotion.
Do not post material that violates applicable law or the rights of others.
Critique the idea, discuss the work, challenge the argumentβbut respect the person.
5. Protect professional and personal information
Screen editing is a professional field in which members may discuss projects, productions and professional relationships.
Please exercise appropriate discretion.
Do not publicly disclose:
Confidential production information
Unreleased footage or material
Private correspondence
Non-public contracts or agreements

Please respect the boundaries and privacy of other members.
Unwanted communication, harassment or misuse of private messaging may result in moderation action.
π SISE International
SISE is part of a wider international conversation about the art and profession of screen editing.
The SISE International area provides a place to discuss:
International screen-editor organisations
Global initiatives
International collaborations
TEMPO and related activities
International events
Exchange with editing communities around the world
We want SISE Connect to be a bridge between the Indian screen-editing community and the international editing community.
ποΈ SISE Foundation
The Society of Indian Screen Editors Foundation is the institutional foundation behind SISE's educational, cultural and professional initiatives.
SISE Connect provides the community layer where members can participate, communicate and exchange ideas.
For official Foundation information, governance information and institutional matters, please refer to the SISE Foundation's official website.
π§ Keep the community useful
A strong professional community depends on the quality of its contributions.
Before creating a new discussion, consider:
Is there already a discussion about this subject?
Is this the appropriate community section?
Will this information be useful to other members?
Can the question or information be explained clearly?
Does the post respect the confidentiality of people and productions involved?
Good discussions create knowledge that remains useful long after the original conversation has ended.
π‘οΈ Moderation
SISE Connect is moderated to maintain a professional, respectful and useful environment.
Moderators and authorised SISE representatives may:
Move discussions to appropriate sections
Edit or remove content where necessary
Close or archive discussions
Address spam or abusive behaviour
Restrict accounts when community rules are violated
Take other reasonable measures necessary to protect the community
Moderation is intended to protect the communityβnot to prevent legitimate professional disagreement.
If you believe a moderation decision requires review, please contact the appropriate SISE Connect administrator or moderation representative.
β¨ What we hope to build
SISE Connect is being built as a long-term professional community.
Our goal is to create a place where:
An editor can ask a question today and another editor can still benefit from the answer years from now.
A place where experience can be shared.
Where emerging editors can learn from established practitioners.
Where professionals can find collaborators.
Where ideas can cross languages, regions and generations.
And where the craft of screen editing can continue to develop through conversation.
Connect. Learn. Create.
Welcome to SISE Connect.
We are glad you are here.
United by the Cut. Defined by the Craft.
